Behind the Flavor

Welcome To Phở

Welcome To Phở

Located in East Hartford, Phở 501 is a fine example of Vietnamese culture as we believe food is the best way to bring families together. ^_^

A Humble Beginning

A Humble Beginning
Phở 501 officially opened its doors in September 1992, carrying forward the legacy of its predecessor, "The Omelette House." At that time, Vietnamese cuisine was still unfamiliar to most Americans. Chef Toan Nguyen, the founder, started by serving eggs with baguettes daily while reserving his signature Phở for Vietnamese customers on weekends.

A Dish That Won Hearts

A Dish That Won Hearts
Initially hesitant about introducing Phở to American patrons, Chef Nguyen was surprised as curiosity grew. Customers began requesting this unique Vietnamese delicacy, and soon, the demand for Phở completely replaced the egg dishes. This transformation marked the beginning of Phở 501’s iconic journey, and the rest, as they say, is history.
